Chapter 4 ♥ Hime ; Hurt
Part I
// - * - //
“I… I…” I saw him walking forward. I shook my head furiously as tears started emerging from my eyes.
“No… Stop it…” I whispered as the sun started to set behind us. The metal grill on the edge of the lad started to glow in a lighter hue of green.
I saw him shake his head. His eyes full of remorse. I shut my eyes. I no longer wanted this feeling. I wanted to end it all. I felt a battle being fought inside of me, but I stood strong and slipped my hand into my pocket…

Hime smoothened her baby pink above knee length dress and grabbed a metallic blue leather clutch. Before heading for the door, she gave myself one final look at the mirror and tidied up her hair and left her neatly arranged room and entered into the living room that was decorated with fine comfortable furniture. On the couch, she saw a mop of spiky black hair. Smiling, she went up to him and laced her hands around his neck.
“I’m ready.” Hime whispered in his ear. The lad nodded but did not move instead, his vision was glued onto the PSP that he was holding in his hand. Hime started to feel her annoyance grow. She threw her clutch on the armchair opposite the couch and flopped herself there. Crossing her hands over her chest, she started to look angrily at her date.
After 50 minutes of ignorance, the lad finally put down his PSP and stood up and walked towards her.
“Let’s go.” He smiled. Hime stared at the lad and stood up and stomped out of the house pissed off. The lad, puzzled by her action, shrugged and locked the door.
Minutes later, they both were on the busy road that was enveloped between two crowded streets. In the belly of the metallic red
“Uh… Dairan… Aren’t we eating hot pot?” Hime asked as she looked at the venue of their date.
“Gomenasai, Hime chan, I spent the last of my allowance on the new PSP game.” Dairan bowed his head apologetic.
“Then, how can you still have money to buy me dinner?” Hime asked. In her veins, she could feel her blood boiling but she gulped down her anger.
“I was scared that if I didn’t bring you out, you will be angry because I have broken my promise yet again.” Dairan confessed meekly.
“If you were so scared, then you shouldn’t go and buy that game in the first place! This clearly shows where I’m standing in your life. I am actually lower than a game.” Hime yelled.
“I…” Dairan opened his mouth wanting to justify himself but when he saw Hime’s tears, he shut his mouth and stared dazed at his blonde girlfriend. “I’m sorry…” Dairan whispered as he brought Hime to his chest and hugged her tight.
“Idiot...” Hime whispered as she pushed him away. “Tomorrow is my birthday, just make me happy tomorrow and go out with me.” Hime mumbled as she wiped her tears and pulled Dairan away from the store and to the parking lot. Suddenly, Hime felt her hand phone vibrate. Hime reached her hand into her clutch and fished out her hand phone and flipped it open. On the phone screen, the name “Shinoki” flashed across. Hime looked at Dairan and back at her hand phone. She excused herself and walked further and pressed the answer button.
“Hime chama.” Shinoki greeted. Hime smiled and returned the greeting “Are you free?” he asked. Hime blinked and turned to look at Dairan.
“Urm, I’m with my boyfriend now.” Hime mumbled.
“Huh? Dairan, he actually takes you out?” Shinoki laughed unwilling to believe her.
“Believe it or not, he is out with me now.” Hime answered grumpily. Shinoki tried to calm down the grouchy lioness but in vain. Hime shut her hand phone and strutted back to where Dairan is and pulled his arm angrily.
“What’s wrong?” Dairan asked as he pulled her back. Hime pulled Dairan to her.
“Hold me tight…” She begged. Dairan puzzeled but complied anyway.
“Dairan… you must hold on tight to me… I…” Hime whispered as tears slipped down from her eyes and fell on Dairan’s red woolen sleeve. Dairan tighten his grip on her petite body and whispered a promise before hushing her.

“Hey Hime!” Hime turned and saw a lad with a dark blonde hair running towards her. Ignoring his call, Hime turned and walked away. Suddenly, she felt somebody grab her wrist. She turned and saw the lad.
“What do you want Shinoki!” Hime yelled as she yanked her hand away.
“Today, do you want to go out with me?” Shinoki asked.
“No, Dairan is bringing me out today.” Hime declined as she turned.
“Really? I heard Dairan say that he was going to the arcade after school.” Shinoki said. Hime stopped at her track. Thoughts started to dash across her mind.
“I don’t believe you.” Hime shook her head.
“Then, why don’t you ask Dairan yourself.” Shinoki taunted Hime. Hime whipped around and stared at Shinoki.
“Fine! I trust Dairan.” Hime snarled as she strutted to Dairan’s classroom. She slid open the door and saw Dairan holding a girl’s hand. She felt her grip on her hand phone loosen as the hand phone fell to the ground.
[CRASH]
Dairan turned and saw Hime at the door. He immediately let the lass hand and looked at Hime shocked. Hime shook her head and rushed out of the class. Dairan immediately followed her and grabbed her hand.
“Hime! It’s not what you think… its not…” Dairan tried to explain.
“Then what is it?!” Hime yelled as she pulled her hand away and stared at Dairan.
“I…”
“Why must you do this?” Hime broke down into tears. “What did I do wrong? Why must you keep cheating me…?” Hime yelled as she hit Dairan chest.
“No! Hime! This time it’s not what you think… I was dared… I…” Dairan explained.
“Dairan, why should I believe you?” Hime sobbed. Dairan looked at Hime, his mind was blank. He did not know what to do; he did not know what he should do to comfort his sobbing girlfriend.
“Answer me Dairan; are we still going out today?” Hime wiped her tears and asked him.
“I… I’m sorry… something cropped up…” Dairan stammered.
“Like? Like going to the arcade!” Hime yelled as she pushed Dairan. Dairan stared at her shock was written all over his face.
“Answer me Dairan! Answer!” Hime yelled as she grabbed his collar.
“I… I’m sorry…” Dairan whispered. Hime’s grip immediately loosened. She looked at Dairan and shook her head. She hated this…
“Break up.” Hime whispered as she removed the ring from her middle finger. Dairan gripped her hand and looked at her.
“Don’t.” Dairan begged.
“Dairan, I told you to hold me tight. I told you that today is my birthday so bring me out. Yet you did not listen. What am I to you?! I guess today my eyes are really opened. I can’t stand being with a guy who views me with little importance.” Hime gasped as she forced the ring back into his hands.
“I, Hime Kurosawa, now have nothing to do with you Dairan Suzuki.” Hime swore before leaving.

Hime sat on the raised chair in front of the counter and gulped down a cup of Perry as she tried to swallow down her sobs. Then, Shinoki sat beside her.
“Hime…” He whispered.
“Why did he do this?” Hime asked her voice slurred with drunkerdness.
“You’re drunk.” Shinoki whispered as he tried to get the Whiskey glass away from her but Hime put up a drunken fight.
“Get away… I want Dairan… Dairan…” She yelled before becoming limp.
“Dairan…” She sobbed as she grabbed Shinoki’s cuffs. “Don’t go…” She whispered. Shinoki slowly surveyed the sleeping angel before carrying her in his arms.
“I will protect you.” He whispered before bringing her into in his car.

“Hime, did you hear?” Hime looked up and saw a brown haired lass wearing a light yellow pinafore with a baby blue shirt underneath.
“No. hear what?” Hime asked puzzled at her companion’s question as she tipped toe to put the coffee container back into the lapis lazuli shelf.
“Don’t you know?! Lockon kun has resigned from his place. So there will be a new guy that will be replacing him.”
“Really?” Hime asked not interested in the current topic. “So, who is this mysterious he then?” Hime asked as she pulled her gray cardigan tightly.
“I don’t know. But I heard that he is a young lad. Quite handsome, heard he graduated from a prestigious university at the age of 21.” Her friend squealed happily. Hime cocked her eyebrow as she stirred her coffee and took a small sip.
“Is he really that wonderful?” Hime asked.
“Like, yes! He can very well be the dream guy for us unmarried woman.” Her friend smiled dreamingly.
“Hah, you wish.” Hime joked. Her friend growled and playfully scratched her. Hime laughed as she took a seat on the orange plastic chair that was tuck neatly under a metal coffee table inside the neatly arranged pantry. After drinking finish her coffee, Hime slowly stood up and walked to the sink and washed her cup. After drying it, she walked out of the pantry and saw her team leader with a black haired lad.
“Ah, there you are!” Her team leader, Kenji, exclaimed as he motioned her to come forward. “This is the new vice leader. His name is…”
“Hime? Hime Kurosawa?” Before Kenji could even finish his introduction between the two, the lad interrupted him.
“Do I know you?” Hime asked as she stared at him.
“Yes, it’s me, Dairan. Dairan Suzuki. Remember?” Dairan said gleefully. Hime looked closely at him and realized who he is.
“Oh, the otaku. I see.” She smiled before turning to Kenji. “Buchou, I need to get going. I have a meeting.” Hime informed. Kenji nodded and asked Dairan to tag along. Hime glared at Dairan and nodded. After taking her briefcase, both of them headed to the elevator and went down to the basement where all the fancy cars were kept.
“This way.” Hime directed as she walked through the rows of branded cars until she reached a sleek metallic purple Porsche. She unlocked it and instructed him to get in. Soon, they were out of the basement and onto the highway. Dairan started to look at Hime as she drove the expensive yet at the same time grand car.
“What?” Hime asked as she stole a glance at Dairan
“Nothing.” Dairan dismissed but continued to look at her. “Nice ring you have.” Dairan complimented.
“Huh? Which one?” Hime asked as she focused on the road. Sighing, Dairan took Hime’s left hand away from the steering wheel and pointed to her ring finger.
“This one.” He indicated.
“Oh, that one. Thanks.” Hime smiled. “That’s my wedding ring.” Hime whispered. Her voice was tinged with a slight hint of bitterness.
“Are you happy?” Dairan asked.
“Huh?” Hime exclaimed, shocked by Dairan’s sudden question. “Why all of a sudden?” Hime demanded.
“Cause, you sounded sad when you revealed that that was your wedding ring.” Dairan confessed.
“I’m happy.” Hime forced a smile. Dairan spotted it but pursued no further.
“So who is the lucky guy?” Dairan asked as they turned into a building and stopped in front of a building’s lobby.
“Shinoki.” Hime said as she stepped out of her car and placed her sunglasses on her bridge. Dairan followed in suit and looked up and saw a big board. On it, it read “Shinoki Enterprise.”
